Gunmen kill Ghazni municipality worker

GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): Unidentified gunmen on Saturday shot dead a municipality worker and injured a civilian in southern Ghazni province, an official said.

Shafiq Nang, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News that a municipality officer Ghulam Farooq was killed by gunmen in the 1^st police district of Ghazni City at around 11.am.

A hawker was also injured in the gunfire, he said, adding that police had started investigation into the incident.

Mohammad Ullah, an eyewitness, said that he did not hear any gunfire but saw two dead bodies on the road shifted by police to hospital.

Dr. Baz Mohammad Himat, Ghazni Civil Hospital director, confirmed receiving one dead and another injured.

A day earlier, a provincial council member Zakia Rahimi was also wounded in a similar attack in Ghazni.
