KABUL to Saudi Arabia has been completed, an official said on Saturday.
Hajj and Religious Affairs Deputy Minister Dayee Al Haq Abid told Pajhwok Afghan News that flying the 23,980 pilgrims to the holy land began on Aug 29.
The government of Saudi Arabia has announced Arafat would be observed on Oct 3 and the Eidul Adha celebrated a day later.
Abid said return flights would begin on the sixth day of Eid — a process that would take 20 days to complete. Six of the Afghan pilgrims have died so far in Saudi Arabia.
Abid added the Afghan pilgrimages had been provided with all facilities, including free bread, proper residences, health services, transportation and guides.
