KABUL (HIA) on Tuesday escaped unhurt in an armed attack on his residence in the Khushal Khan locality of Kabul, an official said.
Also a staunch supporter of Dr Abdullah Abdullah, Sholgarai told Pajhwok Afghan News he came under attack from unidentified gunmen at around 9am.
“Two gunmen opened fire on as soon as I reached the Qargha road in Company area. My 15 years old daughter and a bodyguard were wounded,” he said.
Sholgarai added the attackers escaped after his bodyguards returned fire. He blamed police for not helping him. A police post is located 20 meters from the site. “It was impossible for the attackers to escape if police had acted.”
But Crime Branch chief Maj. Mohammad Rahim said police immediately arrived at the scene after hearing gunfire. The post was located in 250 meters from the site, he added.
