KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Often blamed for mistreating refugees, Iran on Thursday promised creating 50,000 jobs for the Afghans living in the neighbouring country.

Iranian Ambassador Mohammad Raza Behrami held out the promise during a meeting with President Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai at the Presidential Palace here.

A statement from Ahmadzai’s office said Behrami delivered greetings from Iranian President Hassan Rouhani to the Afghan leader on his assumption of office.

Iran always desired peace and stability in Afghanistaninfo-icon, the ambassador said, adding they were ready for cooperation with the neighbour in different spheres.

Ahmadzai thanked his Iranian counterpart, saying Kabul-Tehran cooperation would never be harmed by Afghanistan’s ties with a third country.
