Iranian citizen held with drugs in Herat

HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): Police in western Herat province detained an Iranian truck driver on drugs smuggling charges, an official said on Saturday.

Police Spokesman Abdul Rauf Ahmadi told Pajhwok Afghan News the individual was arrested by security officials in the Islam Qala locality of Kahsan district.

Ibrahim, who confessed to smuggle the contraband, wanted to transfer four kilograms of heroin to Iran, Ahmadi added. 

Earlier, police had detained another Iranian individual from Islam Qala who tried to smuggle 20 kilograms of drugs to Iran.
