GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): Residents of the Khwaja Umari district of southern Ghazni province on Monday held a gathering to voice their support for Afghan security forces following the withdrawal of foreign troops from the country.
The gathering was attended by government officials, tribal elders and civil society activists.
The district’s education head, Noor Ahmad, told Pajhwok Afghan News the national security forces had rendered countless sacrifices in the recent past and had defeated the enemies.
He said the Afghan forces had been able to maintain security on their own across the country.
A resident, Farkhunda, presented floral bouquets to policemen to pay homage to Afghan security forces for providing security to residents and protecting their lives.
An 80-year-old resident, Ghulam Ali, who attended the gathering, said they would always standby the Afghan security forces.
At the end, district chief Ali Shams Dost thanked local residents for supporting the national security forces.
