Kidnapping gang busted in Herat

HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): Police on Wednesday claimed to have busted a six-member gang involved in a series of kidnappings in western Herat province.

Police chief Col. Abdul Majid told journalists the group had kidnapped Haji Mohammad Nasiri, a local elder, from Injeel district two days back, keeping him in Sahar Khez locality.

Haji Naseri was rescued and reunited with his family today, he added.

Acting Governor Aseeluddin Jami told Pajhwok Afghan News the group busted was one of the largest detained so far.
