KUNDUZ (Pajhwok): Officials in northeastern Kunduz province claimed record jump of 30% in revenue of provincial transport department soon after formation of national unity government

.

The seven-month long presidential election in Afghanistan had left negative impact on the economy of the country and investors were no more willing to invest in the country amid uncertainty.

“A number of issues such as polls impasse and rumors that international forces will leave Afghanistan in 2014 had a major negative impact on our revenue. But after formation of unity government, we have registered a considerable rise in our income”, said Sayed Jawad Jalali, head of Kunduz transport told Pajhwok Afghan News.

A new terminal and station for passengers and goods’ vehicles would be built in a move to increase their income further, he remarked.

Last week, officials of Sher Khan Port in Kunduz announced a considerable rise in their custom revenue.
