Local police commander, son dead in Herat explosion
HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): A local police commander and his son died and two others were wounded in a bomb blast in the Pashtun Zarghoon district of western Herat province on Saturday, a police spokesman said.
Abdul Rauf Ahmadi told Pajhwok Afghan News the blast took place around noon. Commander Niamatullah, police chief for the district, said that the bomb targeted the vehicle of commander Halim.
The police commander and his son died instantly while his two guards were wounded when the bomb ripped through the vehicle, Niamatullah added.
