Man commits suicide in Jawzjan

SHIBRGHAN (Pajhwok): A man who claimed to be expert in talisman has committed suicide because of economic compulsions in Aqcha district of northwestern Jawzjan province, an official said Tuesday.

Provincial police chief Col. Abdul Manan Raufi told Pajhwok Afghan News that Mullah Akbar 51 shot himself to death in Aqcha district last night.

He said it would be ascertained yet as why the man took the extreme step as police were started investigating the case.

But Aqcha district Chief Rahmatullah Hashar said that Akbar had economic problems and committed suicide after he developed a dispute within his family.

A local resident Abdul Wasi said that Akbar was doing phylactery, which was his sole source of income. He said the victim left four sons and two daughters as his heirs.

This incident was the first of its kind happened in Jawzjan this year.
