TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): A man shot dead his father and three brothers in central Uruzgan province as a result of what appeared to be a family dispute, the governor said on Saturday.
Amanullah Timori told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident took place in Tirinkot, the provincial capital, on Friday. He said several members of the family had been killed in the incident, but gave no exact figures.
The city’s first district police chief Gul Agha said the dead included three brothers and their father. He blamed the massacre on a family dispute.
The attacker had escaped but police had launched a manhunt to nab him, Agha said. In a similar incident last month a man killed six members of his family in Tirinkot.
