KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok):  A female Ministry of Finance customs official was found dead in central Logar province yesterday, two days after she went missing from her duty station of the Hamid Karzai International Airport.

The ministry identified the victim as Malalai in a statement that condemned the murder of its employee.

The statement said Malalai was kidnapped by unidentified men on November 7. She had been working at the passengers’ section of Customs Directorate at the airport previously known as Kabul International Airport.

Haji Wahidullah, customs director at the airport, told Pajhwok Afghan News Malalai was a resident of Karti Naw area of Kabul City.

She left office for home at 5:20pm on November 7 and the next day her brothers came to his office, saying their sister had not come home.

He said the motive behind her kidnapping and murder was unclear.

According to her brothers, Malalai’s family had no animosity with anyone.

Ministry of Interior deputy spokesperson Najibullah Danish expressed his unawareness about the incident.
