JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Six Taliban drone strike in the Spin Ghar district of eastern Nangarhar province, an official said on Wednesday.

The drone hit a vehicle carrying the insurgents in the Mamond area late on Tuesday night, killing six militants, including a commander Rahmanullah, a 301 zone border police official, Col. Mohammad Ayub Hassankhel, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

He said Rahmanullah had been an active commander in the area. The dead included a Pakistan national, he added.

The drone attack took place in areas between Spin Ghar and Achin district, the provincial police spokesman, Col. Hazrat Hussain Mashriqiwal, told Pajhwok Afghan News. He said all aboard the vehicle were killed in the attack.

In a separate incident, Afghan Special Forces killed an insurgent commander in the Batikot district during an operation, Mashriqiwal said. Four Pakistanis were detained during the operation, he said.

In neighbouring Laghman province, security forces have launched a search operation, the governor’s spokesman told Pajhwok Afghan News on Wednesday.

Sarhadi Zwak said the operation was successfully underway, but stopped short of going into details.
