NATO summit, polls a fiasco: Mullah Omar

NATO summit, polls a fiasco: Mullah Omar

Oct 02, 2014 - 11:13

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): The Talibaninfo-icon’s supreme leader on Thursday said the movement’s political office alone reserved the right to maintenance contact and relations with foreign and Afghan negotiators.

In a message of Eid greetings, Mullahinfo-icon Mohammad Omar said they were trying to realise their goals, including the expulsion of international troops from the country, through military activities and positive relations with the worldinfo-icon.

He added the “jihadinfo-icon and sacrifices” had defeated the Americans, their Western allies and domestic supporters, whose strategies had proved ineffective. The NATOinfo-icon summit in Wales and the presidential elections were a fiasco, he claimed.

“The Americans are entangled in Afghanistaninfo-icon in the long war of their history. Their rising military and financial losses and the dwindling of credibility are signs of their decline,” Omar said in the message.

He ordered the Taliban to focus on unity in their ranks, behave well with civilians and show them compassion to muster the support of the masses.

“I extend you my congratulations on the recent victories of mujahideeninfo-icon as I felicitate you on Eid. May Allah make this an Eid of comfort and well-being for Afghanistan and the Islamic Ummahinfo-icon…”
