NDS claims averting big terror bid in Takhar
KABUL (Pajhwok): The National Directorate of Security (NDS) on Sunday claimed foiling a looming terror bid in northern Takhar province by seizing a huge quantity of light weapons in Gor Tapa area of northern Kunduz province, a statement from the spy network said.
The statement said that the light weapons included four Kalashnikovs and 30 pistols of various brands, which were hidden in a corolla car for onward smuggling to Taliban in Takhar province. One alleged smuggler had been detained by the intelligence operatives.
The statement added that three rebels including the Taliban’s shadowy governor Qari Aminullah Tayyeb were arrested in an operation in Kunduz province.
However, Taliban have not yet commented on the issue.
