KABUL (Pajhwok): The government has decided that individuals involved in attacks on security officials would not get any clemency in future.

Speaking to reporters in Kabul, Police Chief Lt. Gen. Abdul Rahman Rahimi said: “The president and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in a meeting assured us that inmates who have hands in attacks on security officials will be deprived of commutation on special days.”

He hoped the decision would help bringing down attacks ratio on country’s security forces. Separately, unidentified gunmen kidnapped a doctor in northern Jawzjan province.

Police detained an individual and recovered 38 kilograms of heroin and 11 kilograms of hashish form his possession, the deputy police chief said.

Col. Sayyed Zamanuddin Hussaini said Dr. Taj Mohammad was abducted by two bike riders from the Qochin village in Shiberghan, the provincial capital.
