GARDEZ (Pajhwok): A mosque in the Ahmadaba district of southeastern Paktia province and an eight kilometres road in Gardez, the provincial capital, were inaugurated on Thursday.
Governor Juma Khan Hamdard, members of the provincial council and local elders attended the inauguration ceremony here.
Hafizullah, counternarcotics director, told Pajhwok Afghan News the central mosque was located in Raud locality, which cost over 17 million afghanis, provided by the counternarcotics department.
The governor expressed satisfaction with the building of the mosque and lauded the people of Paktia. He demanded the people extend their support to security forces to stabilize law and order.
Eng. Abdullah Durrani, public works director, said an 8-kilometre road from Gardez to Nestikot had been graveled. The project, he said, had been funded by the ministry concerned.
