FIROZKOH (Pajhwok): A provincial council candidate was shot dead along with his son by unidentified gunmen in the Pasaband district of western Ghor province, an official said on Saturday.
Mohammad Kohi and his son were shot dead in the Sangan locality, the governor’s spokesman, Abdul Hai Khatibi told Pajhwok Afghan News. He siad Kohi was in the race for provincial council seat in Ghor.
Khatibi blamed the Taliban for being behind the murder case, adding the victim and his were first detained and then killed by the rebels.
A villager, Mohammad Masum said Kohi was serving as an influential figure who always worked for peace and stability in the area.
