JALALABAD (Pajhwok): A police centre came under cross-border attack in eastern Nangarhar province early Monday morning, an official said.
Col. Ayub Hussainkhel, the 301st border police chief in the eastern zone, told Pajhwok Afghan News two rockets were fired at their base from across the Durand Line.
However, he said, the rocket strike caused no casualties. The base was recently handed over to border police by NATO-led troops. An investigation is on to determine the exact location the rockets were launched from.
Ahmad Zia Abdulzai, the governor’s spokesman, also confirmed the strike, which came hours after the National Security Council directed the security forces to deal effectively with cross-border aggression.
