FARAH CIY/MAHMOOD RAQI/QALAT (Pajhwok): Four people, including two policemen, and seven militants were killed and ten civilians wounded in separate incidents of violence in different parts of the country, officials said Wednesday.
Unidentified gunmen shot dead two police officials and as many civilians in the Sherkoh district of western Farah province, the governor’s spokesman told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Javed Afghan said the slain individuals were heading to their homes when gunmen attacked them in the Tapa Mura locality.
Elsewhere, three civilians wounded in an explosion in the Tagab district of central Kapisa province, Khwaja, Afghan Local Police (ALP) commander of the district said.
Separately, five others civilians, including three children, wounded when a mortar shell hit a house in Yatimano locality, he added.
In southern Zabul province, seven insurgents were killed during a clash with security forces in the Shamalzo district, Brig. Gen. Ghulam Sakhi Rogh Lewanai, police chief, said.
He said police and security forces escaped unhurt in the clash. Taliban have not yet commented on the incident.
