KABUL group on Monday warned of launching a protest movement in Kabul if the unity government failed to introduce cabinet nominees soon.
Members of the group “Afghan Milli Ghurzang” told a press conference here the delay in cabinet formation was harming the government’s credibility.
They said the unity government’s formation was aimed to rescue Afghans from plunging into a deep political crisis, but it seemed the regime was pushing them to a new crisis.
Faiz Mohammad Zaland, a member of the group, warned of widespread protests if the government did not announce the cabinet forthwith in line with promises of its leadership to the masses.
“We strongly appeal to the President and the Chief Executive to stop making domestic and foreign trips for a while and focus on the cabinet formation.”
Besides, civil society organisations, political parties and the National Assembly have criticised the government for not forming the new cabinet.
On Saturday last, the Wolesi Jirga decided to send a delegation to the president and the CEO to hold talks with them on reasons behind the delay.
