Rahimi named as new Kabul police chief

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Interior (MoI) has notified again Gen. Mohammad Zahir’s appointment as crime branch chief and Abdul Rehman Rahimi as new Kabul police chief.

Col. Mohammad Humayun, as senior MoI official, told Pajhwok News Agency the names of Zahir and Rahimi were suggested by the MoI and approved by the presidency.

He said both police officers would formally resume their work today (Thursday). Earlier, Zahir served as Kabul police chief while Rahimi discharged his duties as Balkh police head.
