Robbers posing as policemen detained in Khost

KHOST CITY (Pajhwok): Police on Saturday claimed busting a group of armed thieves in police uniforms in southeastern Khost province.

The provincial police chief accused the gang of being involved in criminal activities and its members posing as policemen and searching houses.

Brig. Gen. Faizullah Ghairat told Pajhwok Afghan News the detainees had robbed a number of people. The detainees had confessed to their crimes, he said.

Ghairat added a smuggler was also arrested along with the weapons he was carrying. But he gave no further details.
