Sayyaf dubs Daesh an anti-Islam force

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Chief of Dawat-e-Islami (DI) party Abdul Rab Rassoul Sayyaf vowed on Sunday that Mujahideeninfo-icon would stand firm to counter Daesh (ISIS) the way they challenged those who invaded Afghanistaninfo-icon.

Sayyaf was addressing a gathering marking a national holiday to celebrate the Afghan Mujahideen’s military victory over the Red Army, at the Loya Jirgainfo-icon tent in Kabul. Sometimes there were Talibaninfo-icon then Al-Qaeda and now there were talks of Daesh, he said, vowing that they would face any Daesh with iron hands.

He said that Daesh was the enemy of Islam. “Spies cause great damage to the country. We are working to protect our borders but spies are sitting under our eyes publishing Mullahinfo-icon Umar’s statements,” he added.  

He said: “We are now united and we will unanimously announce our stand soon for the protection of country.”

On May 15, 1988, the invaded former USSR troops started withdrawal from Afghanistan while the pulling out of thier forces completed on February 15, 1989.

The invasion of the then red army lasted nine years, inflicting heavy casualties and damages on Afghan nation and country. Record shows that 1.5 million Afghans refugees were martyred and thousands of others disabled. In addition, over 10 million Afghan refugees migrated to other countries specifically to Pakistaninfo-icon and Iran.
