KABUL (Pajhwok): Unidentified gunmen shot dead an official of the Supreme Court in broad daylight in the capital Kabul on Saturday, the victim’s relative said.
Khaliqullah Khaliq, director of the Afghanistan Customs’ Law-Enforcement, confirmed the murder of his brother to Pajhwok Afghan News.
Attiqullah Raufi, the Supreme Court’s High Council secretary, came under attack was on his way to office in the Diwan Bigi area of the 5th police district.
“We have neither personal enmity with anyone nor received any threat. My brother was travelling to office without bodyguards,” Khaliq added.
Brig. Gen. Farid Afzali, the crime branch chief, said police were yet to ascertain the motive behind the official’s killing. He added the victim’s body had been taken to hospital.
