SHARAN (Pajhwok): Firefighters quickly doused a fire that could engulf a Kabul Bank branch in the provincial capital of southern Paktika province, witnesses said on Saturday.
Banaras Khan, an eyewitness, told Pajhwok Afghan News the fire erupted in a tyres selling market six meters from the Kabul Bank branch in Sharan last evening.
Three shops and a hotel in the market were gutted in the blaze that was successfully extinguished by firefighters.
Jamil, an employee of the bank, admitted the fire threatened their branch, but the firefighters’ timely action rescued it.
