MEHMOOD RAQI (Pajhwok): A Taliban drone strike on Sunday, police said.

Kapisa deputy police chief Abdullah Talwar told Pajhwok Afghan News the drone strike took place in the Andar area of the town in the afternoon about 4:30pm.

Six Taliban militants, including the shadow district chief, Maulvi Aziz, and a shadow district police chief, Shahid, were killed in the attack. Civilians escaped unhurt in the incident.

Ajmal, a resident of the area, confirmed the drone strike that killed a number of armed insurgents.

The Taliban have so far said nothing about the incident that comes a day after local officials said nine militants have been killed during a security operation in the Alasai district.
