QALAT (Pajhwok): One woman was killed and four others were injured in a rocket attack by Taliban militants in southern Zabul province, an official said Wednesday.

The incident took place on Tuesday night when a rocket fired by the militants hit a house in Shahr-I-Safa district, provincial police chief, Col. Ghulam Jilani Farahi, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

He said one woman was killed and two others and as many children were wounded in the incident. One of the children was taken to the Kandahar Civil Hospital in critical condition.

Taliban have not yet comment on the incident. But their spokesman Qari Yousuf Ahmadi claimed eight policemen had suffered casualties in clashes and roadside bombings in Shahr-I-Safa and Kalat districts.
