TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): The Taliban set free three NGO employees they had abducted five days back in central Uruzgan province, the governor’s spokesman said on Friday.

Dost Mohammad Nayyab told Pajhwok Afghan News the employees of IHDS, an NGO working in health sector. were kidnapped from Shali Naway, a locality in Khas Uruzgan district.

They were set free late on Thursday evening by their captives following hectic efforts by local elders, he added.

Dr. Khan Agha Miankhel, the provincial director health, confirmed the kidnapped men had been released and they had resumed work. The Taliban, he said, set them free after confirming they worked in health sector.
