KABUL (Pajhwok): The Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) has promised assist the Afghan government in building hydroelectric dams and revival of forests around Kabul, the Presidential Palace said on Tuesday.
On the second day of visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani inked this agreement with officials of ADFD, a state-run development bank.
Ghani left Kabul for a two-day official visit to the UAE on Monday immediately after naming his long-awaited Council of Ministers.
A statement from the palace said the two sides agreed that an initial study of the projects would be funded by ADFD and later a regional conference would be held to attract more aid from other Arab nations.
Ghani also met the Sheikh Zayed mosque.
