US assistant secretary of state arrives in Kabul
KABUL (Pajhwok): The US Assistant Secretary of State for Public Affairs arrived in Kabul to reassure Washington’s full support for a peaceful and democratic transfer of power following prolonged election’s wrangling in Afghanistan.
A statement from the office of the spokesperson in Washington said that in the coming days, Doug Frantz would assist embassy colleagues with strategic communications efforts and meet with Kabul-based international and Afghan journalists.
“He plans to emphasize the priority Secretary Kerry places on an audit process that ensures a legitimate outcome and agreement on the details of a government of national unity,” it added.
