World must help dismantle terror havens: MoI
KABUL (Pajhwok): Terming the devastating Paktika suicide attack a “crime against humanity,” the spokesman of Ministry of Interior (MoI) urged the international community to help Afghanistan destroy terrorists’ sanctuaries.
Addressing a crowded press conference here in Kabul on Monday, Sediq Seddiqui asked the global community to earnestly help destroy the terrorists’ cells in region.
The death toll from Sunday’s suicide bombing in Yahyakhel district has risen to 61, with more than 66 wounded, officials said.
The spokesman confirmed ten policemen were among the dead in Sunday’s bombing. “The sanctuaries of suicide bombers are still very much active from where attacks are being unleashed against Afghanistan,” he reiterated.
Afghanistan was facing major terror challenges, he said, hoping that security situation would improve soon.
