AYBAK (Pajhwok): At least 24 civil servants of Samangan’s Revenue Department completed their training on laws and regulations of procurement, different types of taxes and the principle of accounting.

A statement from the German Cooperation with Afghanistan said on Wednesday that during the 18-day training course, provincial officers learnt how to manage efficiently finances at their workplaces.

The training was organized by Samangan’s Revenue Department, with technical and financial assistance from German government at the cost of over 628,000 afghanis.

Trained by two highly qualified trainers, the participants discussed a wide range of topics including effective techniques of dealing with accounting system challenges, methods of increasing revenues and ways of improving the quality of services to the citizens.

During certificates distribution ceremony, Saddiq Azizi, the governor’s spokesperson, said: “We do believe that such measures play a significant role in bringing transparency to the departments and implementing administrative reforms.”

Ms. Nawidah Mutmain, an officer of Mostufait added: “This training provided us with a very unique opportunity to address our routine problems.”

The training was supported by Regional Capacity Development project (RCD) in Samangan, which is financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
