KABUL (Pajhwok) President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani has expressed his profound shock over the killing of 19 civilians, including six children, were in central Maidan Wardak and southern Ghazni provinces.
A day earlier, at least six children playing cricket were killed and 10 others wounded in a a bomb explosion in the capital of Ghazni. The blast triggered an angry protest in Ghazni City.
Thirteen people, including a woman, were killed and two others wounded when masked gunmen opened fire on passenger cars in the Sayedabad district of Wardak province.
In a statement from the Presidential Palace, that president Ghani has expressed his deep sympathy with victims’ families and condemned the incidents as un-Islamic and inhuman.
While condoling with the bereaved families, the president hoped for the swift recovery of the injured. He directed the authorities to ensure the treatment of the wounded.
Meanwhile, the president also shared voiced his grief over the deaths of 144 people in an overnight plane crash in France.
