TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): Thousands of residents of central Uruzgan province on Thursday staged a protest against government officials for their involvement in the killing of police chief Matiullah Khan.
The protestors asked the government for arrest the perpetrators and bring them to justice as soon as possible. They warned of boycotting the upcoming parliamentary elections if the government failed to nab the killers.
Khan was killed in Kabul under mysterious circumstances on March 19. Initially, security officials said he had been killed in a suicide bombing, but investigations later revealed that he was shot dead.
