KABUL (Pajhwok): The Attorney General’s Office (AGO) on Saturday confirmed receiving the cases of all suspects in Farkhunda’s murder, saying the case would be investigated by its military and internal and external crimes divisions.
The 46 suspects included 19 policemen, AGO spokesman Basir Azizi told journalists in Kabul, saying a new panel of attorneys had been formed to investigate Farkhunda’s murder case.
The suspects would be produced before a court after completion of the due procedure, he said, adding that the policemen would be investigated by the military division and the civilian suspects by the crimes against internal and external security division.
In line with the relevant law, he said, the investigation would be completed in 30 days and the public kept informed about it.
Farkhunda, 27, was killed and her body set alight by a mob of men 10 days back in front of Shah Du Shamshera shrine in the heart of Kabul.
