KABUL’s Balochistan and Khyber provinces, a media report said on Sunday.
In the Mastung district of Balochistan, security forces — backed by helicopters — killed at least five men involved in attacks on five oil tankers.
DawnNews quoted Frontier Corps spokesman Khan Wasey as saying the dead belonged to a banned outfit. The operation came after assaults on tankers carrying fuel for a Chinese company.
In the tribal region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 15 militants were killed and four soldiers injured during a clash Tirah valley, the military’s public relations wing said.
About 35 insurgents attacked an army post in Mastak area. In the ensuing gunbattle, 15 terrorists were killed and the attack repulsed.
The attackers left the bodies of 10 of their associates, which the army took into its custody, along with weapons. The bodies were brought to the Levies centre in Jamrud.
