QALAT (Pajhwok): A representative of the USAID-funded Stability in Key Areas (SIKA) programme has pledged on Wednesday to construct four playgrounds in schools in Qalat City, the provincial capital of southern Zabul province.

Kamal Ahmed told Pajhwok Afghan News that besides education projects, SIKA had geared up efforts to build coordination between government and civilians.

He added that construction of playgrounds in High school Sheikh Matay, High school Bibi Khala, High school Kandak and higher education institution would be completed in a month. According to Kamal, the project costs around 5 million afghanis which would be completed through a local organization.

Construction of the playgrounds, he noted would create job opportunities for a number of people.

Director Education Rahim Ullah Ludin said there was dire need of play grounds and the students had problems to play games in their leisure time. He thanked SIKA for their continued support to other departments along with education ministry.
