KABUL (HIA) party.

“It was not my personal decision to resign but I had to leave my current position following my consultations with my party’s councils,” Hamdard said, adding though President Ashraf Ghani had not yet approved his resignation.

Earlier, the president tasked officials of the Independent Directorate of Local Government (IDLG) to hold negotiations with Paktia governor and make him persuade to take his resignation back.

Rumors about Juma Khan’s resignation spread on social media in three different languages. In his letter, he thanked the president for giving him a chance to serve the people of Paktia as governor.

Hamdard said he wanted to serve his supporters in the north and work for the development of his party, therefore, he had to resign from his position.
