Gunmen kill 2 brothers in Kapisa
MAHMOOD RAQI (Pajhwok): Unidentified gunmen shot two brothers dead and their third brother, sister and mother wounded in the attack on Friday on the outskirts of Mahmood Raqi, the provincial capital of central Kapisa province, an official said.
Qais Nadari, spokesman for the acting governor, said that members of the bereaved family offered resistance by opening fire on the attackers.
He said that the injured were taken to central hospital in serious condition. Elder of the family, he said was a shopkeeper in Mahmood Raqi and the culprits might be kidnappers who fled the scene after committing the crime.
Security officials said that investigations to identify the killers had been launched.
Shah Agha, a resident of the locality, said the family did not have any personal enmity with anyone. He said the incident happened only 150 metres away from police headquarters, the National Directorate of Security (NDS) office and the Governor House.
Iqbal Safi, a representative of Kapisa in Wolesi Jirga, expressed grave concern over the incident. The family would not bury the dead bodies until the government assured them to nab the killers.
