ACB helps launch Million Cup cricket tournament
KABUL (Pajhwok): The Loba Cricket Club (LCC) has organized a Million Cup Cricket tournament with the support of Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) to be played at International Cricket Stadium in Kabul, an official said Saturday.
The ACB spokesman Wasal Wisal told Pajhwok Afghan News that the tournament would start next Friday in which eight teams would participate.
Cricket players from center and different zones would take part in the event and Shamshad Television would live broadcast all matches.
Wisal explained that the teams were divided into two groups and players above 19-year of age would participate in the tournament.
He further said that Karim Khan Sadiq would lead Nangarahar Ghazyano Team, Hamid Hassan would lead NFC Tiger, Naw Roz Mangal would head Paktia Mashran, Mohammad Nabi Isakhail would lead Daw-e-Atlan, Mirwais Ashraf would lead Aero Bazan, Nasar Jamal would head Kandahar Shahan, Samim Sultani would lead Afghan Rangers and Noor-ul-Haq would head Almasafi Tigers teams in the event.
LCC director Zarab Shah Zahir said they had been organizing Million Cup Cricket Tournament for the last three years and also ensured they planned for the successful completion of the tournament.
He also thanked the ACB for continued support to organize the event. ACB allowed international playgrounds, international players to participate in the tournament and also provide technical support.
