Paktia blast leaves 3 policemen dead
GARDEZ/ TALOQAN (Pajhwok): Three local policemen were killed in a roadside explosion in southeastern Paktia province, an official Sunday.
Separately, a powerful blast left intelligence official and police chief of Rastaq district wounded in northern Takhar province, another official added.
Eid Mohammad Ahmadzai, Yahya Khail district chief in Paktia, told Pajhwok Afghan News the explosion occurred today morning in Hassan Khail locality. He said Yar Khan, a local police commander was among the three dead as a result of the explosion.
He added two family members of the policemen were also wounded in the blast. Taliban claimed credit for the bombing.
Meanwhile, Takhar police spokesperson, said that Rehmatullah, the intelligence chief for the district, and Sayed Mahmood, the police head, were wounded in a bomb explosion.
He added the bomb was spotted by the security personnel in front of the municipality building but it exploded before it was defused.
