Apr 06, 2015 - 19:54

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Abdullah Abdullah on Monday said the newly-appointed ministers were empowered to hire new staff if required.

Earlier, President Ashraf Ghani issued a decree, saying no acting minister or governor had the authority to hire or sack any official.

Abdullah said those ministers who had received a vote of confidence from the parliament could act within the framework of constitution.

“We’ll share this issue with the president. If there is need for a fresh decree then we’ll ask for it,” he told the cabinet meeting.

It is pertinent to mention that only eight ministries have ministers and 16 other ministers-designate have been introduced to Wolesi Jirgainfo-icon for a vote of confidence.
