MAIMANA/FIROZKOH (Pajhwok): Two militants and as many civilians have been killed and seven local police officials and three civilians wounded during separate incidents of violence in Farah and Ghorinfo-icon provinces, officials said on Tuesday.

The two insurgents were killed after they attacked a security post in Pashtunkot district of Faryab province.

Two womeninfo-icon and a child were wounded when a rocket struck their house during the attack, Abdul Qader Qadir, the district chief, said.

But Talibaninfo-icon said one Afghan Local Police (ALP) official was killed and another was wounded in the assault. The group also claimed four ALP men had joined the movement in Qaisar district, a claim rejected by the town’s administrative chief.

Elsewhere, gunmen shot dead two people riding a motorcycle on their way home in Dolina district of Ghor province, provincial deputy police chief Col. Syed Ahmad Salangi said.

Separately, seven policemen were wounded in a roadside bombing in Saghar district, according to Salangi.
