4 rebels killed, 5 injured in Ghazni clash
GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): Four Taliban militants were killed and five others injured during a clash with police in the Zankhan district of southern Ghazni province on Thursday, the district chief said.
Ahmad Zia told Pajhwok Afghan News the clash broke out after the insurgents attacked a security post in Sangar area near the district centre.
The firefight that lasted three hours left four attackers dead and five attackers and one policeman injured, he said.
The police also confiscated two Kalashnikovs, a walkie-talkie and three military uniforms at the clash site.
But a resident of the area, Ahmadullah, said one policeman had been killed in the clash that left three militants dead.
“We saw the Taliban evacuating their dead comrades as well as the police shifting their dead and injured colleagues in their pick-up vehicle,” he told Pajhwok Afghan News.
