Khost blast leaves 16 civilians wounded
KHOST CITY (Pajhwok): A powerful explosion in front of Wakil Medical Store in southeastern Khost province left 16 civilians wounded on Thursday, provincial Police Chief said.
Brig. Gen. Faizullah Ghairat told Pajhwok Afghan News the explosives were fixed to a bycycle which was parked in front of the medical store.
The blast took place at around 10: 00 am, he said, adding ten persons were wounded who had been instantly evacuated to local hospital.
Initial investigations suggested that the owner of the medical store had personal enmity but police had strated probe into the blast.
However, another security official wishing to go unnamed said the explosion caused 16 casualties. Mohammad Nasir, another medical practitioner, said the blast was so powerful that it left windowpanes of nearby stores smashed completely.
No group claimed credit for the explosion as of yet.
