12 passengers dead in Ghazni roadside blast
GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): Twelve passengers, including six women and a child, were killed when a coach they were travelling in strucke a roadside bomb in the Khogyani district of soutehrn Ghazni province on Friday, deputy governor said.
Mohammad Ali Mohammadi told Pajhwok Afghan News the passenger vehicle was heading toward Khogyani district from Qarabagh when it hit a roadside bomb near Deh Malla locality.
He said five men were among the fatalities. He blamed insurgents for planting roadside explosives, which caused casualties among civilians.
He said the dead bodies had been shifted to Ghazni City, the provincial capital. Abdul Matin, a resident of the locality said one person suffered injuries in the blast.
He said the area was being overrun by Taliban and the security forces had no check posts there.
