Drone strike kills 4 militants in South Waziristan

Drone strike kills 4 militants in South Waziristan

Apr 12, 2015 - 16:47

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Four militants were killed when a US drone fired two missiles at a compound in the militancy-haunted South Waziristan tribal region along the Pak-Afghan border on Sunday.

Pakistani media reports that the unmanned aircraft fired missiles at a militants’ sanctuary in Shawal, a village on the border edge between the two countries.

Situated on border with another restive Pakistaninfo-icon’s north Waziristan, the South Waziristan is largely viewed a militants’ hub near the Afghan border.

The area is also considered strongholds of foreign militants and local Talibaninfo-icon fighters.

Media reports that those killed in the missile strike were members of the Pakistani Taliban’s Sajna group.
