RS condemns killing of “Save the Children” workers
The five kidnapped employees of “Save the Children” a foreign NGO were killed on Friday in the Sosang and Zamto areas of Tarinkot, the provincial capital of central Uruzgan province, an official said.
The dead bodies of the slain workers were recently recovered in Tarinkot.
“We are saddened to learn about the killing of our employees by Taliban. Our staff is dedicated to serve the Afghan children,” said Brig. Gen. Wilson Shoffner, RS Deputy Chief of Staff for Communications. “We stand with President Ashraf Ghani in condemning these acts of violence against the people of this country.”
The individuals were kidnapped 45 days ago by Taliban from the Surkhab locality who traveled there to monitor their projects. Among the dead employees, one belonged to Nangarhar while the rests were the residents of Uruzgan province.
