Developing telecom sector govt’s priority: Ghani
KABUL (Pajhwok): President Ashraf Ghani on Tuesday said further developing the telecommunications sector in Afghanistan was his government’s top priority and directed the Ministry of Finance to address concerns of telecom companies about taxes.
The president expressed these views at a meeting with the directors of Afghan Telecom, Afghan Wireless Communication Company (AWCC), Roshan, Multinational Telecommunication Network (MTN), and Etisalat, a statement from Presidential Palace said.
Ghani listened to their problems concerning taxes and asked the finance minister to hold a meeting with them and address their complaints.
“The development of telecommunications sector is the government’s priority,” said President Ghani, adding that the government would provide all facilities the sector needed.
